That's why the "wet" (aged) boiling point of any brake fluid is substantially lower than the "dry" (new) boiling point. To maintain maximum braking performance, Competition Motorsport strongly suggests replacing your brake fluid before every track event, but at least every three months if you're consistently racing and/or driving at track days. The PAGID RS14 (Black) is a high-friction-value ceramic compound with very good modulation, high fade resistance, low heat conductivity, and a good wear rate up to a constant temperature of 1,200°F (650°C). It's kind on rotors, with visible grooving but no tendency to crack them. RS14 is our most popular ceramic-based friction material. It will tolerate much higher working disc temperatures than PAGID RS4-2, extending fade resistance. RS14 is used as an OEM material and supplied as an upgraded track day pad by Lotus Motorsport.
