Hawk HB485G.656 Race Pad DTC-60

Hawk DTC-60 Characteristics. The Hawk DTC-60 offers high torque, excellent modulation and release with less initial bite than the Hawk DTC-70. What makes the Hawk DTC-60 (Hawk production code G) is it's superior release and torque control characteristics. The hawk DTC-60 brake pads are designed for cars with high deceleration rates with or without down force with sticky tires like DOT R compounds.

The Hawk DTC-60 has is Hawk's most popular track-only pad. We have seen about a 30-35% longer life at about 10% less maximum torque than the Hawk DTC-70.

The Hawk DTC-70 works best with sticky race rubber, hi-rate springs, and a well set-up shock package. Aero also helps. We sometimes use the Hawk DTC-60 to to split friction between front and rear axle by using a combination of DTC-60 and Hawk DTC-70.

Hawk DTC-60 Brake Pad Bedding Procedure:

  1. After installing new brake pads, make 6-to-10 stops from approximately 30-35 MPH applying moderate pressure.
  2. Make an additional 2-to-3 hard stops from approximately 40-45 MPH.
  3. DO NOT DRAG BRAKES!
  4. Allow at least 15 minutes for the brake system to cool down.
  5. After step 4 is completed, your new Hawk Performance brake pads are ready for use.
