A little history on the image above.
During the 2012 24 Hours of LeMans, ex-F1 driver Anthony Davidson in the Toyota TSO30 Hybrid - aiming for the large gap left at the apex by the Ferrari F458 driven by Piergiuseppe Perazzini - found the door slammed as the Ferrari driver failed to realize he was being overtaken. Davidson was soon two stories in the air, tumbling out of control because the aerodynamics that were designed to produce downforce created lift.
Perazzini's meeting with the Armco turned the F458 on its roof, yet the amateur driver lived and was not seriously injured.
Landing on three wheels, Davidson's Toyota smashed into the tire-lined Armco barrier, demolishing the left front of the Toyota. Davidson currently races in the World Endurance Championship, still with Toyota.
What was the neck restraint chosen by both drivers? Hans Device - the neck restraint chosen by more professional racers than all others combined.
